Having trained and worked in Australia and the US, Associate Professor Chang was awarded a PhD for research into retinal and choroidal angiography from the Universities of California and Sydney.

Associate Professor Chang  is the Medical Director of Sydney Retina Clinic, part of the Acurio Health Group. He is also Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney and Consultant Vitreoretinal Surgeon and Head of Ophthalmology at Sydney Eye Hospital.

Associate Professor Chang’s commitment to healthcare internationally includes many professional memberships and appointments, including Scientific Secretary and Committee Member of the Asia-Pacific Vitreoretinal Society (APVRS), and Chair and member of the NSW Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) Committee and the Federal RANZCO Council. He is also a clinician advisor to the Australian Department of Health.

Recognition for Associate Professor Chang’s contributions includes the Achievement Award and Distinguished Service Award of the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) and the RANZCO Excellence in Teaching Award.

Associate Professor Chang’s passion for innovative healthcare treatments and procedures includes the development of new drugs and medical devices through clinical trials in Australia and the US. His research has been published extensively in medical and scientific literature, and he serves on the editorial board of several peer-reviewed journals. He also promotes strategies aimed at better engagement with medical professionals and patients using the latest in cloud, IoT and AI technology.
